Folic Acid, also know as Vitamin B9, assists in preventing certain birth defects of the spinal cord andd brain known as neural tube defects (NTDs). Without a sufficient amount of Folic Acid the cells that form the baby?s brain and spine become deficient resulting in spina bifida (open spine) or anencephaly (undeveloped brain). There are over 4,000 births defects annually as a direct result of insufficient Folic Acid in the Mother?s body. Folic Acid should be taken prior to conception since these births defects begin in the first month of pregnancy. Folic Acid also helps prevent other birth defects such as cleft palate, low birth weight and helps in the production of additional red blood cells needed to support the growth of the fetus. Other studies have show that Folic Acid helps in the prevention of heart disease, stroke and anemia. The Center for Disease Control recommends that all women of childbearing age consume 400 micrograms of Folic Acid daily and that once pregnancy is confirmed increase to 800 micrograms daily. The normal diet does not provide a sufficient amount of Folic Acidd so supplementation is required.

Body Armour
With the amount of knife crime present in the UK at the moment its little wonder that the police have to wear Body Armour . I wouldn`t like to be faced with a knife-wielding offender, especially if I didn`t have the right level of protection on my body. It might be a sad state of affairs but the truth is that Body Armour has become an everyday part of the police uniform. However it`s not just the police that require this level of protection because anyone working in the public sector could require this type of armour. Think of street wardens trying to make the community a safer place and the risk of attack they might come across as part of their duties. Security officers are also prime candidates for attack and they need to be well equipped to perform their essential roles. Door supervisors can be confronted by angry individuals and they too could do with wearing covert types of Body Armour which can shield them from a vast array of weaponry. It`s frightening when you hear about the high levels of knife crimes that are carried out within the UK. Certain individuals risk life and limb to make our community a safer place. They can do all that they can to protect their bodies from harm by wearing the highly effective Body Armour.
